“Happy New Year!!!

I’m so happy to be back and I’m so glad you’re back with me.

Today I’m approaching a hard topic that I just feel so compelled to address. So before you turn it off I hope you’ll listen all the way through for some hope and encouragement.

It’s been devastating to watch this world gripped in fear the last two years. The majority of the world has been glued to their TVs for direction on what to do and how to live. Like a slave waiting for orders from the master. Two years. When you get alone in silence, turning all the noise off, eyes closed have you asked the Spirit for truth? Where is your faith, your trust, your dependence? What is it in and Who is it on?

What I see? Too many of us putting our trust in humans that put their pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us. When will we depend on something greater than ourselves? The silence has been deafening for many of us. We are doing our best to shout it but it feels like we are all alone. Just waiting for someone to call out the world like Jesus called out the disciples “oh ye of little faith!”

Remember that story? The boat was caught up in a great storm, the disciples in full panic mode. And they find Jesus sleeping!!! They say “how can you be sleeping when we may die?” He puts those men to shame when with one flick of the wrist he calms the storm. Who is in control!? Who is on the throne? HE IS! That story was a lesson to us. We are living like chickens with our heads cut off while figuratively asking God “where are you” why are you sleeping?” But He’s not. He’s here. In total control. Of this whole thing. We’ve got to stop listening to the voices working for satan. “He comes to kill, steal and destroy.” And that’s what he’s been doing.

I’m of the opinion that the biggest drug being dealt the last two years is fear. And I must admit to some degree we are all addicted. There are fear dealers everywhere we turn. I opened my phone last night and the very first instagram post was from CNN and it said in big bold letters “WHO director says this pandemic is far from over!” Why!? What’s it for? This fear driving. It’s literally killing people, like every drug does. And the answer is the same….Because it fills the pockets of the the dealers.

So… what can we do? We do have a calling. We do have a purpose in this. We, with God’s grace, can change the tides. An army of hope dealers must rise up! We’ve got to become addicted to hope. We’ve got to stop going back to the news and our phones to get our fix. We’ve got to “drive out darkness with light.” The hope dealers have to overpower the fear dealers. “2 Tim 1:17 “God hath not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.” Are you living with a spirit of power?? Are you living with a spirit of love? Because Jesus said love and fear can not coexist. Are you living with a sound mind or is your mind controlled by outside sources other than God? And if you are saying yes to any of these, does your life portray that?

In the Book of Exodus, the Pharaoh of Egypt kept God’s people enslaved for 430 years. But the Lord calls out for someone to be a hope dealer. And his name is Moses. God speaks to Moses and tells Him that He will deliver His people. But whats so interesting in this story is that after Moses told the Israelites what God had said, they immediately started to worship. They trusted that Gods Word was true. That He was in control and He was their deliverer. Do you trust Gods word? Do you believe He is in control and that He will be the one to deliver us? You see, their worship preceded their deliverance. So perhaps, right now, worship is the single most important thing we can do. Like the Israelites we can fully trust God and praise God with our hands held high in worship. So many times we see God take action in the Bible on behalf of His people after we see a step of faith, obedience and trust come first from those who love Him.

This is our calling in this. This is our purpose. Will you take action? Will you take a big step of faith? Will you turn it all off and instead raise your arms every morning and evening thanking him for what He is about to do?

“For God hath not given you a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:17

Hope dealers, it’s time to rise up.”
